Del Birch is vice president of ExecutivePulse, Inc. As the business retention manager for Erie County PA from 1996-1999, Del conducted hundreds of face-to-face visits with CEOs in Erie County and other Northwest Pennsylvania counties.

As co-founder and principal of ExecutivePulse, Inc., Del assists clients throughout the U.S. and Canada in implementing systematic, sustainable business retention and expansion programs, including development and delivery of training programs to enhance the skill levels of outreach personnel and service providers on the BR&E team.

Del is a regular instructor on business retention course for the professional certification program sponsored by International Economic Development Council (IEDC). He routinely speaks before regional and national groups on the importance of business retention.

He produces the electronic newsletter, The Retention Monthly which provides a monthly overview of economic development news and trends. It is distributed to over 6,500 economic, community and workforce development professionals. Del’s articles on business retention and workforce trends have appeared in various publications including Business Facilities and ICMA Public Management.

He holds a BBS in business management from the University of Notre Dame and a masters degree in advertising from the University of Illinois. Del previously worked in marketing/sales for several multi-national firms including Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Black & Decker and Hon Industries.
